Der spanische Agrarminister sieht für Spanien einen Rückgang der Weinproduktion 2005 um 13,8 %, sprich um ca. 40 Millionen Hektoliter, im Vergleich zu 2004 voraus. Dieser Rückgang ist vor allem auf die starke Trockenheit zurückzuführen, die schwer auf der Traubenproduktion in Katalonien (-40%), in Kastilien-La Mancha und der Extremadura gelastet hat.
