In just a month’s time, ENOMAQ 2025, the International Exhibition of Machinery, Techniques and Equipment for the Wine, Olive and Brewing Industries, will be held at the Feria de Zaragoza, an edition in which the event reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability and the development of technical knowledge.
The Aragonese capital’s exhibition center is organizing and hosting the 24th edition of the event from Feb. 11-13, 2025, consolidating its position as the benchmark event for professionals in the three sectors involved. This is confirmed by the strong support shown to the event by the main associations and companies in the sector. More than 800 brands from 28 countries have already confirmed their presence at the event, which means a wide range of exhibitors that will be reinforced by a wide variety of parallel activities, presentations and conferences.
The technical seminar program will take place at the Zaragoza Fair Congress Center and will kick off on Tuesday, February 11, with a session entitled “The Wine Sector Facing Changes in Markets and Consumption.” Azucena Gracia, from CITA-Aragón, and Merche Sánchez, from the Public University of Navarra, will give presentations and analyze the keys to adapting to a constantly changing environment. This first day will also include panel discussions led by representatives of important wine organizations, such as Raúl Compes, of CIHAEM Zaragoza, Rafael del Rey, of AEPEV, and María Naranjo Crespo, of ICEX.
Wednesday, Feb. 12, will be dedicated to the revaluation of wine sector products. Salvador Manjón, director of La Semana Vitivinícola, will moderate a session consisting of four presentations exploring innovative strategies to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of wine production. The first of these will be “The Profession as the Cornerstone of Evolution,” with Santiago Jordi, President of the UIOE, as keynote speaker. Then it will be the turn of Belen García, director of PAKNET, with a presentation on “Moving toward circularity in wine packaging: strategies and opportunities to address change.” Emma Castro, director of the Wine Department of the Agrifood Cooperatives of Spain, will be in charge of the presentation “Bodegas Cooperativas Cooperativas de España.
Cooperative wineries: from the vineyard to the glass.” Finally, Clara Martín and Andrea Casquete of Plataforma Técnica del Vino will present “The added value of technological innovation in the wine sector.”
On Thursday, February 13, the program will conclude with a focus on collaboration and knowledge exchange. The final day will feature presentations and discussions on how alliances between institutions and companies can foster the development of the sector, again moderated by Salvador Manjón. Presentations will begin with “The role of employer associations in the Spanish wine scene,” given by Joaquín Toscas, president of AeCava. Afterwards, Jesús Mora, general coordinator of CECRV, will give a presentation on “The Role of Employer Associations in the Spanish Wine Panorama.”
The CECRV general coordinator will present “Origin as a Generator of Value,” followed by “The Spanish wine sector strategy: milestones reached together and challenges for the future,” led by OIVE director Susana García. The last protagonist will be Artificial Intelligence, with the presentation “How AI can help the wine sector along the entire value chain,” given by Trinidad Márquez, technical and environmental manager of the Spanish Wine Federation. ENOMAQ 2025 will have a space in Hall 9 of the Feria de Zaragoza entirely dedicated to business presentations by exhibiting companies. Sustainability and innovation will be the main themes, focusing on topics such as innovations in wine filtration systems to efficiently measure alcohol content; advances in more consistent and environmentally friendly corks; exploration of technological solutions for packaging; and new developments in production machinery.
The Tasting Corner will once again have a prominent place within the event. During the three days, the FEAE, Aemoda, Mercacei, Escuela Superior de Cerveza y Malta and the Catalan Cork Institute will offer themed tastings.
Other industry organizations are also showing their support for the event, coordinating activities to discuss the main opportunities and challenges facing the three industries. Among them, AEMODA will present technological innovations,
such as artificial intelligence, applied to process automation; the Aragonese cluster CAMPAG will introduce innovative projects for viticulture; the Pink Boots Society Spain will highlight the transformative role of women in the brewing industry; Valgenetics will offer a scientific and technical focus on biotechnology applied to the sector; CIHEAM Zaragoza will present its training program; and CAJAMAR and Jorge Gruart will present their sectoral books.
ENOMAQ 2025 continues to position itself as an essential forum to address both challenges and opportunities in the agribusiness sector, balancing sustainability, innovation and tradition; always promoting networking, idea exchange and opportunity generation in the wine, olive oil and beer industries. ENOMAQ will also host the seventh edition of the VinEspaña National Wine Competition, organized by the Spanish Federation of Oenology (FEAE), in collaboration with the Government of Aragon, Feria de Zaragoza and the Aragonese Association of Oenologists (AAE). The competition, one of the most prestigious and nationally recognized, will be held Feb. 12 and 13 at the Zaragoza Fair Auditorium and will highlight the work of Spanish oenologists.
