Winegrowers are facing major challenges caused by climate change, labour shortages and rising production costs. In recent years there has been considerable development and experimentation with non-invasive digital technologies.
In this presentation by Javier Tardaguila during the Enoforum session dedicated to the DIGIWINE service in support of digital innovation, a number of sensing technologies are described including spectroscopy, multispectral and hyperspectral imaging, chlorophyll fluorescence, thermography, electrical resistivity, LIDAR (Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging) and machine vision. Artificial intelligence is also discussed.
This presentation is one of the activities proposed by the Digital Innovation Hub DIGIWINE, created by SIVE and VINIDEA as part of the H2020 SmartAgriHubs project. DIGIWINE’s mission is to promote the development of digital solutions in the wine sector and facilitate their implementation in European wine regions.
