Applications are now open for the sixth edition of the SIAD International Award for Innovation in Viticulture and Enology, promoted by SIAD S.p.A. in collaboration with Infowine.

The initiative is aimed at all sector professionals—researchers, technicians, winemakers, and students—who are developing solutions based on the use of nitrogen, CO₂, argon, and oxygen in vineyards and wineries.

The competition seeks to identify solutions that demonstrate measurable benefits in terms of:

  • Organoleptic quality and stability of the final product: impact on the chemical-physical and sensory parameters of wine
  • Process optimization: improved operational efficiency and reduced processing time
  • Environmental and economic sustainability: minimized ecological impact and improved cost-benefit ratio

This initiative represents an opportunity to share concrete application experiences and contribute to the advancement of technical knowledge on the use of gases in modern wine production. Selected projects will receive sector visibility and a monetary prize, encouraging technological transfer between applied research and commercial production.

Winemakers, researchers, students, PhD candidates, and industry professionals may apply individually or as a team. Completion of the project is not a mandatory requirement: preliminary proposals or ongoing experiments are also accepted, provided they present an innovative approach and potential transferability to production practices.

Evaluation will be carried out by a Scientific Committee based on defined criteria: originality of the technical solution compared to established practices, environmental impact, quality improvement of the final wine, economic sustainability, and industrial scalability of the proposed application.

The selected project will receive the SIAD Medal and a financial award of €6,000 (gross amount), with the prize ceremony scheduled for the first half of 2026, offering networking and visibility opportunities within the sector.

To apply, it is necessary to request the documentation via the following link to the SIAD International Award 2025.

Application deadline: December 31, 2025.
