During the 12th edition of the ENOFORUM Technical-Scientific Congress (Vicenza, May 21–23, 2019), a session was dedicated to presenting the preliminary results of the Soil4Wine LIFE+ project (www.soil4wine.eu).

Prof. Stefano Poni presented a study on best practices for vineyard soil management to best preserve soil resources, which are increasingly recognized as precious and limited. The practices of grass cover, green manure, mulching, and conservation agriculture in the hilly areas of Piacenza and Parma are being carefully evaluated to counteract erosion and compaction, which can reach alarming levels.
