From 15 to 16 May, Mar Delgado, the project coordinator from the University of Cordoba, Gianni Trioli and Ekaterina Kleshcheva, the project partners from Vinidea, represented the MOVING project at the ENOFORUM congress, held in Zaragoza, Spain. 

ENOFORUM ends its fourth Spanish edition with more than a resounding success with the participation of more than 700 technicians, including winegrowers, oenologists, wine sector companies, scientists, associations, oenologists’ associations and organisers. It has once again demonstrated that it is the largest technical-scientific congress in the sector held in Spain with a strong international dimension, bringing together scientists from all over the world who have generously contributed their most recent advances to all the technicians who have attended the event.  

The programme included more than 60 presentations on the latest innovations in viticulture and oenology, given by around 40 technicians and researchers from universities and public research centres from six different wine-producing countries. It was also an opportunity to learn about the results of 9 important research and innovation projects in viticulture through posters, Flash Talks and dedicated sessions.  

The 15th of may the session dedicated to the opportunities and challenges of mountain viticulture was organized in the framework of MOVING project. Here you can find video recording of the presentations:

  • Ekaterina Kleshcheva, VINIDEA (Italy) – Three case studies on wine: Pyrenees (Spain), Alto Douro (Portugal), Trentino (Italy)

The next day a comparative tasting was offered in order to illustrate the topic of mountain wine and climate change. The participants guided by Beatriz Martinez (Bodegas Alodia), Alejandro Ascaso (Bodega Edra) and Prof. Manuel Malfeito Ferreira had a chance to taste the wines produced on the different altitudes in the Spanish Pyrenees and the Portuguese Alto Douro. 

Enoforum 2024 was organised by Vinidea in collaboration with Laboratorios Excell Ibérica, sponsored by Simei, with the high patronage of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine and supported by the main Spanish Oenologists’ Associations and by key organisations in the wine industry such as the Wine Technology Platform and Enomaq.
