WINE RESEARCH in EUROPE - Conservation and protection of the natural vine heritage

In previous projects, the Feuga Galician foundation, which deals with the transfer of knowledge, innovation and technology from the research world to the production sector, has focused the important economic and environmental consequences of the use of water and fertilizers in the wine sector.

For this reason it has created an innovative technological solution for waste management through the Wetwine project, funded by the Interreg Sudoe program.

The aim of the project is to verify an innovative system for the management and exploitation of wastewater, to obtain and characterize a high quality fertilizer, to spread this technology and to develop indications for the use and management of water and wastewater from the winery.

Ana Muñiz, presenting the project at Enoforum, describes the innovative technology already in use in a pilot company in Galicia and the next planned activities including the preparation of tests to test and verify the agronomic characteristics of the obtained fertilizer.

On the occasion of the 10th edition of Enoforum, a congress session dedicated to wine-related research financed by the EU was presented, presenting the ongoing European projects for the wine sector. This video shows the presentations of the WETWINE project (Interreg Sudoe)
