What you do after you harvest your grapes is critical to successful spring vine performance, according to two leading viticultural researchers.

Dr Mike McCarthy, South Australian Research and Development Institute, and Dr Jason Smith, National Wine and Grape Industry Centre, spoke with growers at a series of grower workshops on how to set up their vineyards for an efficient start to next season.

The workshops, coordinated by the Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation (GWRDC), were held in 15 regions in 5 states and covered how to manage extreme weather conditions during the season, as well as the replenishment of carbohydrate reserves in grapevines after harvest.

This week, a short video with key post-harvest information has been released, and is available at online along with factsheets on post-harvest management and sustainable salinity.
