The University of California, Davis (UCD) Teaching and Research Winery installed and commissioned a new reverse osmosis (RO) filtration unit in the Jess S. Jackson Sustainable Winery Building in early December 2016 that filters rainwater captured onsite to be used for tank and equipment cleaning in the winery.
The RO equipment and the rainwater capture system are the latest sustainable systems to come online at UCD’s LEED Platinum certified winery toward implementing the goal of the Department of Viticulture and Enology and the vision of Professor Roger Boulton to build and operate the world’s most modern research winery and the world’s most sustainable winery.
