Currently there is a greater sensitivity among consumers regarding different aspects of sustainability. Although it is essential to communicate the concept of sustainability through the label, the consumer has realized the lack of rigor in such statements. The purpose must be to create the image of an eco-friendly product, but with a consistency in its scientific application.
In her presentation, Chiara Corbo summarizes the three different possible ISO statements on the label. She presents some studies in France, Italy and at the level of the European Commission, where there is no legislation specific to environmental issues. She also describes the type of label and the objectives that the Eco-Prowine project decided to adopt.
