The aim of the VITICAST project is to optimise the production and sustainable cultivation of vines through innovation in the management of the most common fungal diseases (downy mildew, powdery mildew and botrytis).
This project has developed a tool for warning of possible infections that combines meteorological data measured at the foot of the plot, prediction of the phenological stages of the vine, concentration of spores and inoculum necessary for infection to occur. This tool makes it possible to estimate crop production in advance, as well as to reduce the number of antifungal treatments applied in the vineyard.
In this webinar, the protagonists of the project (research centres and main producers of the bioclimatic provinces of the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula: DDOO RÃas Baixas, Ribeiro, Valdeorras and Ribera del Duero) will describe all the technical and application aspects of this innovative tool and the main results obtained in this project that has reached its final phase.
