European consumers' preference for wines made from fungus-resistant grape varieties

Fungus-resistant grape varieties (known as FRGV or PIWI) offer many benefits, such as less pesticide use and greater sustainability. Even so, one of the main concerns of winemakers when talking about these varieties is to ensure the same level of quality as traditional varieties.
This study analyzes the advantages and characteristics of these varieties, the best practices for their vinification and shows the results of an important study in which it was evaluated how European wine consumers and experts value wines made with new FRGVs compared to traditional varieties of V. vinifera.
