Sampling a vineyard to estimate yield and fruit composition is a basic required skill for all vineyard mangers and winemakers. It may seem like an easy task, and if done improperly, it probably is. To sample properly, it requires time, skill, and knowledge.
This article describes strategies to ensure that vineyard sampling is valid.
